"Harry Potter" fan art

These days I'm building my new website and while updating my portfolio, I found some unpublished works!

This is a "Harry Potter" fan art illustration I made for the fantasy fanzine "Lupus in Fabula", I wanted to draw Harry, Hermione and Ron in a funny way, showing how they go through a lot of problems.
Though the article it was meant to appear in was finally cancelled, I'm happy with the result so I included it in my portfolio anyway :)

And here are a few close ups and details, as soon as I have some
free time I'll make a video with all its process :)

The lovely Hedwig

Though Harry goes through a lot of problems, he always finds a solution at the last minute.

I think Hermione would never let her books go :P

And of course Ron wouldn't have any idea to save himself,
he's just falling down helplessly xDD

INKTOBER 2014

#Inktober is here again!

And as I can't help to put colour in everything I do, this year I've found a good solution to give my ink drawings a colorful touch ;)

Hot Summer

I keep working hard to improve my skills!

I started this pin up just to have fun drawing a curvy body, but then I decided I wanted to make something more than just "a sexy lady". So I gave a context to her sensual pose, and this hot weather has been the perfect inspiration.

It has also been a great way to practice lighting effects :)

To make it more homelike, I included a little dog... aren't corgis just adorable?! *o*

Taking a cold and refreshing juice while reading about paradisiac beaches,
a good way to try to escape from the hot weather!

Disney sketches vol. 1 - The Little Mermaid

Lately I felt like I need to take a step forward to improve my skills, to create better illustrations with fluid movements and expressive characters, more detailed backgrounds, etc.

So I've decided to face new challenges! And the first one is practicing face expressions. To make it more fun, I practice while watching a Disney movie and I draw many expressions I see. It's not that I want to simply copy the screencap, I want to understand the pose, the movement, learn the details of each character and its personality but drawing it in my own style anyway...

That's a lot of things to achieve but I'm having a lot of fun xD

The first movie I've chosen is "The Little Mermaid", because Ariel is very expressive and charming
...Next one will be "Aladdin"! ;)

UPDATE: I felt guilty for not drawing prince Eric, so here he is
(also I couldn't resist to draw Ariel with that funny face xD

Night Dreamer

I did this piece several months ago for the zine Quaintrelle, that has now been published!

Quaintrelle is a beautiful new project, full of amazing female artists and the main theme for this first edition was "The Night". A beautiful theme that inspired me and made me think about how much I like to dream... though not just at night, I love to dream all the time! :P

Someone told me this girl looked a lot like Wendy from Disney's "Peter Pan"...
and I think they're right xDD I always liked her so maybe, somewhere in my mind
I was thinking about her while I was drawing this :)

Don't forget to take a look at "Quaintrelle" zine nº1, it has some really beautiful artworks ♡
