Princess Leia commission

Who's the biggest baddass of the galaxy?
Princess Leia Organa!

This pin up has been one of the commissions I've enjoyed the most (maybe my renewed Star Wars hype due to The Force Awakens has something to do about it xD). I'm usually too busy with my platonic love for Han Solo but Leia is simply awesome *o*

Since her majesty is such a strong character, it was very important to keep her bold personality
while bringing some erotism to her iconic white dress.

"Beauty" commission

These days I've been working on many private commissions, and this one in particular has been one of my favourites
I confess that I love it when people ask me for erotic pin up commissions, they're my favourite thing! This one was kinda personal, so I made something very sensual but elegant and delicate at the same time.

And if you want to ask me for a commission, it's very easy! Just send me an email to  ariartna@gmail.com  describing what you want and I'll be happy to draw for you ;)

As you can imagine, I've had a lot of fun working on this one!

TOMB RAIDER fan art: Step by Step

Everybody knows the famous video game series TOMB RAIDER, of which I am a HUGE fan since I got my first Playstation with just 12 years old (though I confess that my favorite thing was killing Lara Croft in every possible way... xD).
Now I can't tell how excited I am for the upcoming new release, REBORN, and see how they've renewed the story and see Lara in a different way, facing new challenges as an unexperienced explorer.

And now let's talk about the illustration itself!

I made it for a private commission, and the most important when asking for a commission is telling me exactly what you want: a certain pose and/or background, character's facial expression. In this case the commissioner told me he wanted the "Reborn" Lara Croft from the new video game, which means wet clothes, arch as a weapon and a wild background.

After looking lots of pics of the game and photos of how to handle an arch (@__@), I started doing sketches. At first I was going to make a full body shot but then I cropped it to an american shot to focus on her face and the arch.

Then it's time to make some colour testing, all the color scheme is based on the typical turquoise of Lara Croft's t-shirt, to make her more recognisable. And now it's time for the good stuff!: shadows, lights and, most important, the wet effect with a looot of little drops.
It is important to use different brushes for each texture, for example I use a soft type to paint the skin and a harder one for the hair.

Lara looks so cool with an arch... I can't wait to play this new video game! T^T

COMMISSION: Fishing in the woods

A new year starts with new projects to work in, 2013 is going to be very productive! :)

Today I'm showing you one of the commissions I made last year, a 47x19" digital illustration and a vinyl sticker. The idea was to make a colorful painting and following the idea of "fishing", make the fish out of the frame. So, I made the animal in a vector format to print it as a vinyl sticker to put it on the wall under the canvas.

--------------------------
Here you can see the evolution of the commission: first a sketch trying different formats, next I made a new background with more perspective, last I did a color test to show my client the color palette I was going to use.

Finally, the most laborious part, colouring. In this case I didn't want to make a very detailed painting because it would have been too different from the vector style of the fish. The most important was to make it look cheerful so the illustration would light up the place where they put it.

I really enjoyed this commission, my clients were great and both them and I were really satisfied with the final result, it was a pleasure!

Remember I accept commissions, you just have to send me an email to
ariartna@gmail.com telling me what you want! ;)
