Original drawings

These are some of the drawings I've made specially for people who got the
"Calendar + original sketch" special pack of my 2016 Pin up Calendar :)

Every drawing I make is always very special to me, no matter if it's an elaborate piece for my portfolio or just a doodle in a restaurant napkin, it's something I really treasure.

So giving them away is quite important for me, but it also makes me extremely happy to know that all of them are in good hands now and with people that truly appreciate them (´▽`ʃƪ)

Thanks to everyone who purchased my calendar and specially this pack!

And for those who still haven't got my calendar, it's not too late!
You can purchase one of the last copies left on my Bigcartel shop ;)

Thank you~  !

Daily sketches II

Here are some of the daily sketches I've posted on my social networks but not here!
You can follow me on twitter, instagram and tumblr and you won't miss a single doodle

Doodling with bright colours, my favourite thing :)

And lingerie, my other favourite thing xDD

Brigitte Bardot: hair goals *o*

"What's a place like this doing in a girl like you? Oh wait... err..."

You'll probably be seeing this last sketch again,
as I plan on painting it and use it as a lighting practice :D

More coming soon~ !

The Truth is Out There.

I'm so excited about my childhood hero's comeback!

When I was a kid I was such a huge fan of The X Files - though I guess most times I didn't really understand what was going on... but that might happen again now when I re-watch the episodes xDD -
I even made my own "FBI agent ID card" and of course I played as "Dana Scully", what a great character

Nerdy Girl

... Have I ever told you I HATE characters who wear glasses?! (ு⁎ு)྆྆
Maybe I've watched too much anime, but that kind of characters are always boring, way too serious and have the excitement of a rock. Also, glasses usually make me really mad because they tend to ruin a cute character design, and that's a sin to me ( •̀ω•́ )

BUT then one day I made this drawing as part of a commission for stamp sets, and man, I don't know how, I unexpectedly fell in love with this nerdy beauty *o*
The final artwork was in just black line, so I've kept the sketch in the drawer for several months, waiting for a chance to paint it in my own style and make it part of my collection of coloured sketches.

And now that I've finished my calendar and that I have TONS of commissioned work to finish up before Christmas (... pray for me x____x), it has been a perfect excuse to use it as a quick colouring practice to clear up my mind!

... Now I think maybe even I could be happy wearing glasses (⁄ ⁄^^⁄ ⁄)

Back to work!

Well, actually I haven't stopped working! :_D
For the last few months I've been working on a big, big project from which I hope to get really great news, but I can't show anything about it yet.

Meanwhile, it's time to get back to all the personal projects I left unfinished, and the very first one of them is... my 2016 "Pin Up Girls" Calendar!
The overall design is planned, but now I must work hard and create 12 completely new illustrations for the calendar, it may sound like a lot of work (and it is) but I couldn't be more motivated about it

I'll be posting the process of all the illustrations and tell you when you can preorder the calendar ;)

I went to my favourite art store and got a new and wonderful sketchbook,
it's small enough to carry with me wherever I go and yet it has a good size to feel comfortable while drawing (the ones I bought lately were too small).

I also got me a super cute pink pencil, now I just want to draw in blue & pink!
Doodling just got a lot more fun! *___*

Disney doodles: week 2

The little game, #DisneyDoodles  keeps going on! (you can see the first round here)
Remember that to participate you just have to follow me on Instagram or Twitter and vote for your favourite characters! ;)

These were the doodles of the 2nd round:

Special doodle, couples theme:  Anna & Kristoff or Beauty and the Beast
and Disney's classic movie was chosen.

Lady won over Cruella de Vil! Definitely we prefer dogs than fur!

The incredibly sensual Esmeralda won the brunettes match, against Pocahontas.

Disney Doodles: week 1

This month I'm getting ready for an important project (I hope I'll be able to tell you about it soon!) and to practice my "Disney skills" I've started a little game on my Instagram and Twitter accounts:

Everyday I'll give you 2 characters and YOU will vote which one you want me to draw for the next day!
Taking part of the game is as easy as following me on Twitter and/or Instagram and vote daily for your favourite character! I'll be waiting for you! ;)

And these have been the doodles of this first week:

I started with a personal favourite, Ariel wearing that lovely pink dress
(who said pink and red can't go well together?!)

"Guys, I want a castle."
The first winner was Flynn Rider, he defeated Queen Elsa!

Next ones were Nala (The Lion King) and Thumper (Bambi),
and the adorable rabbit won the match!

Last one of the week was Tinkerbell, though Genie (Aladdin)
was very close to win the match!

Angry Merida

I made this doodle a few weeks ago, while watching Brave, but I felt today was a perfect day to paint it because I'm suffering a terrible headache this morning and I feel as angry as Merida here ;___;

Poker Lady

A few weeks ago, my friends taught me to play poker, at first I had NO IDEA of what I was doing and of course I lost quickly! haha but now... gosh, shame on them, I'm completely obsessed with this game! xDD

Next time I'm going to try this move, I'll beat everyone for sure! xDD

So, thanks to this new obsession, I used this theme for one of my daily doodles. And I liked it so much that I painted it but in a sketchy style, like this other daily doodle.
I must confess I feel really comfortable with this style and I'm going to colour some of my daily sketches like this, because I can't live without adding some colour to everything I do...!

January 12, 2015

Hello 2015!

So, 2014 has been a crazy and hard-working year... until the very last day!
2 weeks before Christmas I decided to print some calendars, which is something I've wanted to do for many years but never got the time... and surprisingly this year I made it right on time!

Wrapping all the calendars was fun but it took a lot of work, thanks to my mother in law for helping me!
(Gràcies per tota l'ajuda, Carme!)

At first I was going to print just a few but as the news began to spread, people kept asking for more and more calendars, so I finally printed a lot more than I thought and... they're all sold out! I still can't believe it!

UPDATE: as I'm still getting requests to purchase my calendar, I'm going to print a few more.
Please if you want one this is your last chance! Send me an email to ariartna@gmail.com to preorder yours ;)

So I've been thinking, maybe it's the moment to get serious about opening my own online store (maybe in Etsy, Society6... or both xDD) so I could sell some prints, bookmarks, or my next year's calendar.. ;)
Please feel free to comment which stuff you would like me to sell, all ideas are welcome!

And talking about New Year's resolutions, I've included "daily sketches" on my list again (like every year xD), these are the first daily doodles of 2015! I want to work even harder this year :D

Doodles: Rinoa Heartilly

This time I've been practicing face expressions with my favourite character ever, Rinoa Heartilly!

Final Fantasy VIII has always been my favourite video game, it was one of the first ones I played when I got my first Playstation. I remember the first time I played it, a friend brought it to my home and we started playing it, with NO memory card xD but we were so amused that we played the whole Disc 1 in just one night, non stop! xDD
After that I got my own FFVIII and I played it for more than 100 hours...! I was so fascinated by its beautiful scenarios, amazing music and of course its characters... I fell so much in love with Squall and Rinoa's love story, it makes me feel so romantic... sigh ;____;

I can say Final Fantasy VIII changed my life, I'm a video game obsessed thanks to it! :D

Rinoa had everything to be my favourite character: she wears blue - my favourite colour-,
she always speaks her mind, she's a rebel, and she was born in March and has a dog! YAY! xD

I also found this fan art I did many years ago (I think 2009), when I was starting to learn
how to paint digitally and, as always, she was a great inspiration

Disney sketches vol. 1 - The Little Mermaid

Lately I felt like I need to take a step forward to improve my skills, to create better illustrations with fluid movements and expressive characters, more detailed backgrounds, etc.

So I've decided to face new challenges! And the first one is practicing face expressions. To make it more fun, I practice while watching a Disney movie and I draw many expressions I see. It's not that I want to simply copy the screencap, I want to understand the pose, the movement, learn the details of each character and its personality but drawing it in my own style anyway...

That's a lot of things to achieve but I'm having a lot of fun xD

The first movie I've chosen is "The Little Mermaid", because Ariel is very expressive and charming
...Next one will be "Aladdin"! ;)

UPDATE: I felt guilty for not drawing prince Eric, so here he is
(also I couldn't resist to draw Ariel with that funny face xD

March 26, 2014

Good morning

These days I'm working on a new project I'm very excited about!

I still can't tell you anything about it but I will as soon as possible and while I'm busy working on it I'll keep posting daily sketches and some wips of the drawings I'm preparing for my new portfolio :)

Also I want to thank everyone for your birthday wishes this 23rd March, you're so sweet!

For some reason I felt like drawing a red-haired girl *^^*

Daily sketches

Here are some doodles and sketches I did a few days ago!

This one is inspired on Angelina Jolie, wearing a sexy tuxedo at the BAFTA's ceremony.
She looked so BEAUTIFUL I needed to draw her *o*

You can see a photo of it here ♡

Now I always take a little sketchbook with me, so I can draw anywhere and anytime :)
